ACT Policing is seeking witnesses and dashcam footage following a vehicle theft and dangerous driving incident.

On Friday, 10 October 2025 police responded to reports of a stolen grey 2016 Holden Astra, from a Casey residence.

About 7:50pm yesterday (Friday, 7 November 2025), police observed the stolen vehicle at the intersection of John Gorton Drive and Cotter Road, Wright. The vehicle drove through a red light at high speed, forcing officers to take evasive action. A brief pursuit was initiated but quickly terminated due to the risk to public safety.

Around 8:25pm the same evening, the vehicle was located abandoned in the carpark of a school in Weston and a man was arrested nearby.

Police are asking anyone who saw the vehicle or has dashcam footage from the areas of John Gorton Drive, Streeton Drive, Coombs, Wright, or Weston between 7:45pm and 8:30pm on 7 November to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website.  Please quote 8211391.
