Woman charged after allegedly assaulting a security guard

A 23-year-old woman will face court tomorrow for allegedly assaulting a security guard after she was denied entry to a nightclub in the City.

About 1:15am this morning (Sunday, 11 May 2025), the woman and her male partner were denied entry to a licenced venue on London Circuit.

Police allege the woman then began knocking over items belonging to the venue and when security guards attempted to stop her, they fell to the ground.

The woman then allegedly kicked one security guard twice, punched him in the face and bit him on the arm.

The woman was restrained and when police arrived a short time later, she was arrested.

She is due to face the ACT Magistrates Court tomorrow (Monday, 12 May 2025), charged with common assault and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
