Identities sought following aggravated burglary

ACT Policing is seeking community assistance to identify two men after they attempted to break into a store in the Westfield Belconnen on Tuesday morning.

About 7.20am Tuesday, 27 May 2025, two men entered a service corridor at the Westfield Belconnen and attempted to gain access to Bailey Nelson Optometrist, causing significant damage to the door.

A short time later, the men were confronted by a cleaner. The men allegedly ran toward him with weapons, causing the cleaner to flee.

The men then left in a blue Mazda 3 with stolen ACT registration plates YCO12K by driving through a boom gate onto Swanson Street.

The first man is described as approximately 180cm (5’11”) tall with a solid build and was wearing a black hoodie with a logo on the front, black tracksuit pants, white Asics shoes, gloves (one black and one blue), a black face covering and carrying black satchel bag.

The second man is believed to be approximately 170cm (5’7”) tall with a slim build and was wearing a grey hoodie, blue pants, black boots, gloves (one red and white and the one white and yellow), and a black face covering.
