A 22-year-old Sutton man who was subject to a Good Behaviour Order and bail conditions for other matters, has been charged with firearms offences following an incident in Gungahlin overnight.
Police were called to the rear of a gym in Gozzard Street, Gungahlin at about 10.10pm last night (Sunday, 9 March 2025) following reports of a fight between two groups of men.
Officers located one group of men and observed one of the men allegedly try and conceal an item nearby. That item was located and found to be a gel-blaster firearm closely resembling a Glock handgun.
The 22-year-old from Sutton NSW was arrested and charged with possession of a prohibited firearm, discharge of a firearm in a public place, breaching a good behaviour order and breach of bail.
A second man in the group was found to be in possession of a large knife and he will be charged via summons for possessing a knife in a public place.
ACT Policing reminds the community that gel-blaster firearms are prohibited and significant penalties can apply if a person is found to be in possession of these items.
