A 29-year-old man has been extradited from Western Australia to face incest and other historic child sex offence charges.
Police allege between 2009 and 2019, the man sexually assaulted two girls known to him.
In 2022, officers from the Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Team began an investigation and on Tuesday (11 March 2025), the man was arrested at his home in Swan View (WA) by the AFP Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team.
He was extradited to the ACT yesterday and is due to face the Magistrates Court today (Friday, 14 March 2025), charged with acts of indecency on a person under 10 years, acts of indecency on a person under 16 years, incest, and assault.
If you or someone you know has been affected by sexual violence, you can report to police by attending a police station, calling 131 444, or by speaking to the Canberra Rape Crisis Centre on 02 6247 2525.
There is no statute of limitations for sexual offences in the ACT. It doesn’t matter how much time may have passed and it is never too late to report.
You can also submit an online report for historical sexual assault for incidents that occurred more than six months ago.
