
A 21-year-old Dickson man will face the ACT Magistrates Court today for allegedly organising the manufacture of MDMA and other controlled drugs via clandestine laboratories.
In early 2024, ACT Policing’s Drugs and organised crime team commenced an investigation into a drug trafficking group, which identified the 21-year-old man as a person of interest.
Police will allege the 21-year-old man’s primary involvement was organising and directing other members of the group utilising encrypted applications. He allegedly arranged for the manufacture of controlled drugs interstate and the sale of controlled drugs and collection of controlled precursors in the ACT.
The man also allegedly provided funding to other members of the criminal group to carry out various taskings on behalf of the group including manufacturing of approximately 20 kilograms of Methylenedioxymethamphetamine at two separate clandestine laboratories in NSW.
About 11am on Monday (17 March 2025) the man was arrested at his Dickson residence and was charged with participating in a criminal group, recruiting people to engage in criminal activity, conspiracy to traffic in a controlled drug other than cannabis and commission by proxy - possess large commercial quantity-controlled precursor.
Investigations are ongoing and further arrests are anticipated.
