
A 31-year-old man has been charged after allegedly stealing several energy drinks and donuts from a store and assaulting an employee while trying to flee.
About 2pm on Saturday (15 March 2025), the man arrived at a petrol station in Spence and took the items without attempting to pay.
When confronted by staff members, the man allegedly became aggressive and punched another man in the head several times, causing facial injuries.
The matter was reported to police and about 3.40pm, police located the man on a motorcycle on Kingsford Smith Drive, in breach of his bail conditions.
Officers arrested the man and located stolen items in his bag. He was conveyed to the ACT Watch House where he was charged with robbery, intentionally inflicting grievous bodily harm, and resisting police.
He will appear before the ACT Magistrates Court tomorrow (Monday, 17 March 2025).
