UPDATE 15-year-old charged with assault

UPDATE: A 13-year-old girl was arrested yesterday (Friday, 28 March 2025) in relation to this incident. She has been charged with joint commission assault occasioning actual bodily harm and joint commission minor theft. She has also been charged with joint commission recklessly inflicting actual bodily harm in relation to an incident in Belconnen in February.

A 15-year-old boy who was subject to bail conditions for previous alleged violent offences, will face court tomorrow following the alleged assault of a 58-year-old man in Woden on Wednesday evening.

Police will allege the boy and a teenage girl physically assaulted the 58-year-old man after a minor verbal altercation on Brewer Street, Woden at about 6pm on Wednesday evening (19 March 2025).

The assault included the teens allegedly kicking and punching the man while he was on the ground.

Police attended the teen’s home last night (Saturday, 22 March 2025) and arrested him to face charges of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and breach of bail. He is expected to appear in the ACT Childrens Court tomorrow (Monday, 24 March 2025).

Efforts to locate the teenage girl involved in the incident are continuing.
