Witnesses sought following Uber armed robbery

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to an alleged armed robbery in Mitchell and Watson last week.

About 12.20am on Monday (2 June 2025) an Uber driver was parked outside Wanderlust in Mitchell when a male described as Caucasian with a slim build approached the vehicle offering to pay his fare in cash.

After providing an alleged fake ID to guarantee his trip, he entered the passenger seat and allegedly pulled out a knife and threatened the driver.

Once they arrived at an address in Watson the man allegedly further threatened the driver demanding cash.

The man allegedly demanded the driver take him to Watson shops to withdraw cash from an ATM. When they arrived at the shops the man allegedly took the drivers phone, car key and bank card before withdrawing a sum of money.

Police are seeking any witnesses to the man and the Uber driver in Mitchell or at Watson shops after 12.20am last Monday.
