A Chifley man has been charged with possessing child exploitation material following a referral from the Australian Centre to Counter Child Exploitation.
After receiving the referral regarding the alleged uploading of child exploitation material, investigators executed a search warrant at a residence in Chifley yesterday (Wednesday, 11 June 2025).
Multiple electronic devices allegedly containing child exploitation material were seized.
A 46-year-old Chifley man was subsequently arrested and charged with two counts of possession of child abuse material and two counts of using a carriage service for child abuse material.
Due to previous convictions, the man had reporting obligations to the ACT Child Sex Offender Registry Team. The man allegedly failed to report changes of details as he was required to and was charged with being in breach of those obligations.
The man is expected to face the ACT Magistrates Court today (Thursday, 12 June 2025).
