A 29-year-old man will face court today after allegedly robbing a bottle shop in Gungahlin last week and threatening to kill a man yesterday afternoon.
About 1pm on Monday (26 May 2025), police allege the man entered the Cellarbrations store on Ernest Cavanagh Street and threatened staff with a large knife before fleeing the store with a sum of cash.
About 4pm yesterday (Monday, 2 June 2025), the man allegedly got into an argument with residents of an apartment complex in Watson before pulling a knife and running at another man.
After a struggle, the male resident was able to take the knife, and the 29-year-old man fled the scene.
Police attended a short time later and located the man nearby. He was arrested and officers identified him as the person allegedly involved in the bottle shop robbery.
He has been charged with aggravated robbery, threatening to kill a person, and possessing an offensive weapon with intent.
He is due to appear before the ACT Magistrates Court today (Tuesday, 3 June 2025).
