A 39-year-old man will face the ACT Magistrates Court today after allegedly refusing to provide blood alcohol sample and spitting at officers.
About 6:15pm yesterday (Sunday, 15 June 2025), police responded to a disturbance at a residence in Torrens.
When police arrived, a man was attempting to leave the residence in a white Mitsubishi SUV. Officers stopped the vehicle and requested that the man undergo a breath analysis, but he allegedly refused multiple times. He was subsequently arrested and transported to the ACT Watch House.
While at the Watch House, the man continued to be belligerent toward police, spitting at and physically assaulting multiple officers.
The man was charged with four counts of assaulting a frontline community service provider and refusing to provide an oral fluid sample.
