A man and woman will face court after allegedly stealing items from recycling bins at the Mitchell Resource Management Centre.
About 4.50am today (11 June 2025), police responded to a report of two people inside the Mitchell Resource Management Centre loading items into a trolley.
Officers located a 42-year-old man and a 48-year-old woman walking towards a vehicle while allegedly carrying stolen items.
A search of their vehicle located several other items allegedly stolen from the facility, including six laptops, 12 car batteries, a mobile telephone and a quantity of scrap metal.
The man and woman will be issued with court attendance notices to appear before the ACT Magistrates Court at a later date to face aggravated burglary charges.
Police would like to remind the community that it is an offence to steal items that have been donated or disposed of at a business or waste management facility.
