Two men have been charged after making multiple non-emergency Triple Zero calls in two separate incidents on Sunday.

Between about 5:45am and 6:30am yesterday (Sunday 27 July 2025), a 79-year-old Narrabundah man made nine calls to the Triple Zero police emergency line.

The man did not request police assistance and allegedly was verbally aggressive during the calls, swearing at the operators.

About 8am, police attended the man’s residence and placed him under arrest.

In a separate incident, a 30-year-old Ainslie man has also been charged after calling Triple Zero for a non-emergency.

At about 5:45pm yesterday (Sunday 27 July), the man called the Triple Zero police emergency line to report a matter that was not an emergency.

He allegedly proceeded to call the emergency line six more times in an hour. About 7:30pm, police attended the man’s residence, and placed him under arrest.

The two men will face the ACT Magistrates Court today (Monday 28 July 2025) charged with making vexatious calls to an emergency service number.
