A 48-year-old man will face the ACT Magistrates Court this morning after returning a breath analysis result six times over the legal alcohol limit yesterday.
About 2.45pm (Tuesday, 11 February 2025) police received a call for assistance from a member of the public who was driving behind a Subaru Outback on Isabella Drive that was observed mounting gutters, and swerving into oncoming lanes.
A short time later, the Subaru came to a stop on Isabella Drive, Fadden, where the member of the public that had been travelling behind the vehicle removed the keys from the ignition.
About 2.55pm, police arrived at the location where the driver of the Subaru – being the 48-year-old man – was subjected to a roadside alcohol screening test which returned a positive result.
He was subsequently taken to Tuggeranong Police Station to undergo a Breath Analysis Test where he recorded a Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) of 0.300 - six times over the legal alcohol limit.
The 48-year-old was issued an Immediate Suspension Notice, suspending his ACT drivers licence for 90 days. He will also be charged with drink driving.
