
A 39-year-old Richardson man has been charged and 13 prohibited firearms have been seized following police response to a disturbance last night.
About 10.20pm last night (Friday, 21 February 2025) police attended a residence in Richardson following reports of a disturbance.
After entering the residence, officers observed display wall containing numerous prohibited firearms.
Police located the owner of the firearms at about midnight in a carpark in Wanniassa.
The 39-year-old man was subsequently arrested and charged with one count of unauthorised possession of 10 or more prohibited firearms. He was also subject to a good behaviour order at the time of his arrest.
The man is scheduled to face the ACT Magistrates Court this morning (Saturday, 22 February 2025).
ACT Policing reminds the community that replica firearms including gel-blasters are prohibited items and it is a criminal offence to possess items such as the ones seized in this incident.
