Woman to face court after allegedly biting officer

A 44-year-old Moncrieff woman will face court today after allegedly biting an ACT Policing officer during an arrest yesterday.

About 8:30am yesterday morning (Monday, 22 December 2025), police were called to a residence in Moncrieff following a report of a disturbance between the 44-year-old woman and her partner.

Police spoke to the woman and her partner, with both entering a written agreement to keep the Kings Peace for 24 hours.

About 11am the same morning, police reattended the same Moncrieff property following a report the woman was again allegedly acting aggressively.

Officers established that a breach of the peace had occurred and placed the woman under arrest.

During the arrest, the woman became aggressive and allegedly bit one of the arresting officers on the leg.

The 44-year-old woman will face the ACT Magistrates Court today (23 December 2025) charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and two counts of resist territory public official.
