Man charged after allegedly assaulting store managers

A 45-year-old Belconnen man has been charged after allegedly assaulting two store managers in the City yesterday.

About 12:20pm (Tuesday, 30 December 2025), police allege the 45-year-old man attended a store in the City and attempted to steal some items.

When approached by two store managers, the man allegedly became aggressive. He allegedly shoved one of the managers, and slapped, hit and yanked the hair of the other before exiting the store.

The incident was reported to police and a short time later officers located and arrested the man nearby.

He will face the ACT Magistrates Court today charged with two counts of common assault and minor theft.
