Woman charged with family violence offences

A 23-year-old NSW woman has been charged after allegedly assaulting her partner during an altercation at a Canberra hotel.

About 3:30am this morning (Thursday, 21 August 2025), police attended a hotel room in Forrest after the woman’s partner called police.

The woman allegedly punched her partner in the head and threw an empty glass bottle at him.

The woman was arrested by police, and charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, common assault, and possessing an offensive weapon with intent. She is due to face the ACT Magistrates Court today.
