ACT Policing is aware of planned protest activity this weekend including pro-Palestine activity on Saturday and possible anti-immigration activity on Sunday.
While the possible scale of the protests are unknown at this time, police will continue to monitor all available information and will respond appropriately. There is no intelligence to suggest there will be intentional acts of violence or criminal damage. Accordingly, Canberrans should not alter their plans this weekend and should go about their business as usual.
Minor traffic disruptions may occur on Saturday and Sunday in the City, Campbell and Parkes districts. Drivers are asked to consider their route if they do not want to be delayed when driving nearby.
ACT Policing supports the right of people to peacefully protest, however the disruption of business activity or other criminal activity will not be tolerated by police.
