ACT Policing is warning of potentially lethal illicit drugs in circulation in Canberra after attending multiple suspected drug overdoses recently.

Since Saturday (23 August 2025), two people have died as a result of suspected drug overdoses in separate incidents.

ACT Policing is urging people with drug dependencies and those around them to be aware of the signs of overdose and not to hesitate before seeking medical assistance. Users can also collect free naloxone kits from chemists and other health facilities.

Drugs can be tested at CanTEST, which provides free and confidential chemical analysis of pills and drugs intended for personal use, as well as tailored information and harm reduction advice.

There is also a range of support services and advice for those using drugs from Canberra drug treatment organisations.
