Police seeking witnesses to City bar sexual assault

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to an alleged sexual assault that occurred in a bar on Genge Street earlier this month.

About 12.45am on Saturday 9 August (2025), officers the Territory Targeting Team were conducting patrols on Bunda Street when they were flagged down by security staff from a licenced premises on Genge Street.

The security reported two males had been removed from the bar after allegedly making repeated unwanted advances and inappropriately touching female patrons.

A short time later, officers identified the two males, spoke with them and obtained their details, before they were released pending further enquiries.

The men are described as South Asian in appearance with one wearing a yellow jumper and the other wearing a white jumper at the time of the incidents.

Anyone who has any information about these incidents or who had contact with the men between 9.00pm on Friday 8 August 2025 and 12.50am on Saturday 9 August 2025 is urged to contact Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website. Police are urging any victims of sexual assault, including anyone who is aware of intimate images being shared without the subject’s consent, to report these criminal activities.
