A 39-year-old man has been extradited from South Australia to face perjury and other charges after allegedly providing false documents in court.
In 2020, police began an investigation into the man after he stole approximately $40,000 from a travel agency he was employed by.
The man pleaded guilty to burglary and theft offences in June 2023 and was scheduled to appear before court multiple times for sentencing.
Police allege the man provided false medical documents and information to delay his sentencing proceedings.
On Tuesday (12 August 2025), South Australian Police arrested the man at his home in Mount Barker.
Yesterday (Thursday, 14 August 2025), investigators from ACT Policing’s Major Crime Squad extradited him to the ACT.
He is expected to face the ACT Magistrates Court today (Friday, 15 August 2025), charged with four counts of perverting the course of justice, two counts of perjury, and giving false or misleading information.
