A 24-year-old Belconnen man has been charged following a two-car collision last night.

At around 9:20pm last night (Friday, 15 August 2025), police were called to a two-vehicle collision on Long Gully Road in Isaacs.

Police allege the driver of a white Toyota Hilux was travelling east bound on Long Gully Road at speed and on the wrong side of the road.

The Hilux then collided head-on with a blue Hyundai, causing the Hyundai to crash into a metal barrier.

ACT Ambulance Service attended and transported the driver of the blue Hyundai and his young daughter, who was a passenger, to hospital for a medical assessment.

Police arrested the driver of the Hilux a short time later and he was taken to The Canberra Hospital to be medically assessed.

Whilst at the hospital, the man submitted an alcohol breath test which showed a reading of 0.173.

The man will face the ACT Magistrates Court today (Saturday, 16 August 2025) charged with negligent driving, driving under the influence of alcohol, not giving assistance following a collision and breach of bail.
