A 39-year-old woman has lost her licence for 90 days after blowing seven times over the legal alcohol limit on the weekend.

About 5.45pm on Saturday (19 April 2025), police received a report that a silver Toyota Corolla had collided with a concrete barrier in Philip before continuing along Yamba Drive.

Police attended the woman’s home in Garran a short time later and located the vehicle with damage to the front driver’s side.

The woman was subject to an alcohol screening test which returned a positive result. She was then taken to City Police Station to undergo a Breath Analysis Test where she recorded a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) reading of 0.357 - more than seven times the legal limit.

She was issued with an immediate suspension notice, suspending her licence for 90 days, and charged with drink driving. She is due to appear before the ACT Magistrates Court in May.
