
A 20-year-old man has been charged with drug driving after allegedly colliding with a motorcyclist on Thursday night and fleeing the scene.
About 7:40pm (17 April 2025), police and emergency services received reports of a collision between a Harley Davidson motorcycle and Toyota sedan at the intersection of Yamba Drive and Julia Flynn Ave, Isaacs.
Police who arrived at the scene were unable to locate the driver or vehicle and witnesses reported he had fled.
The motorcyclist was treated by ACT Ambulance Service paramedics and transported to hospital with serious injuries.
A short time later, a member of the public located the driver in Mawson and returned him to the collision scene.
He tested positive for driving with drugs in his system and he was taken into custody.
The Toyota sedan was later located in a green belt in Mawson.
The driver, a 20-year-old man from Isaacs, will face the ACT Magistrates Court at a later date, charged with negligent driving causing actual bodily harm, drug driving, and failing to stop and give assistance.
