Explosives, drugs and ammunition located during vehicle search

ACT Policing officers from Woden Police Station located explosives, drugs and ammunition during a vehicle search in Wanniassa yesterday.

About 4pm yesterday (Sunday, 13 April 2025), police located a White Mazda 2 in a carpark at the Erindale shops and later last night, and a search warrant was executed on it.

During the search a number of items were located in the vehicle including:

  • Approximately 260 grams of methamphetamine – equating to approximately 2600 ‘hits’ of the drug
  • A small amount of cocaine
  • Two shotgun cartridges
  • Ten .22 rounds of ammunition
  • A machete
  • A taser
  • Approximately 300grams of ammonium nitrate in a pipe – (explosives).

At this time no charges have been laid and enquiries into the seized items are continuing.
