Seeking witnesses to Acton car fire

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to dangerous driving and a car fire incident in city suburbs today.

About 10:30am today (Thursday, 19 September 2024), police and emergency services responded to a report of a car on fire on Parkes Way (citybound) in Acton.

ACT Fire & Rescue extinguished the blaze, and no one was injured during the incident.

The destroyed vehicle was a white Kia SUV which had previously been reported stolen.

Earlier today, (about 9:30am) the Kia failed to stop for police along Morsehead Drive with the vehicle driving over roundabouts and nearly colliding with other vehicles.

At this time no arrests have been made in relation to these incidents.

Police are seeking information about the driver of the vehicle, including any information about where the driver ran to after they left the Kia SUV on Parkes Way.

Anyone who may have witnessed the vehicle being left or who may have dash-cam footage of it, is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website.  Please quote 7854664. Information can be provided anonymously.
