Person located deceased following house fire in Spence

A person has been located deceased following a house fire in Spence this morning.

At about 10.45am (Tuesday, 17 September 2024), police and ACT Fire & Rescue were called to the scene of a house fire at Crofts Place, Spence.

The fire was extinguished but, sadly, the body of a person was located inside the home.

The fire is being deemed suspicious, and a man is assisting police with their enquiries.

Police would like to reassure the community that there is no ongoing threat to public safety.
