Man to face court after drugs and cash seized

A 47-year-old man will face court today after police seized almost half a million dollars in cash, drugs and other drug paraphernalia from his home last month as part of Operation Vitreus.

On 20 August 2024, police executed a search warrant at a residence in Turner.

At the home, officers found almost $500,000 in cash, 250grams of a substance suspected of being cocaine, 2.5kg of dried cannabis and other drug related items.

The resident was not home at the time and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

About 2.40pm yesterday (2 September 2024) afternoon, the man presented to a police station where he was arrested. He will face the ACT Magistrates Court today charged with traffic in a controlled drug, traffic cannabis and dealing in the proceeds of crime.

Anyone with information about the sale and distribution of illicit drugs in the ACT and surrounding region can contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via www.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.
