Man charged with drug trafficking following City search warrant

A 58-year-old man has been charged with drug trafficking following a search warrant that was executed on his residence in Reid.

About 11am yesterday (Friday, 13 September 2024), officers from City Police Station executed a search warrant at a residence on Ainslie Avenue following an investigation into the source of illicit drugs being trafficked in the city area.

With assistance from drug detection canines, police located and seized:

  • Clear bags containing a white crystalline substance, believed to be methamphetamine,
  • Several bags containing a white powder, believed to be cocaine,
  • Multiple mobile phones,
  • Shotgun shells,
  • Multiple identify cards not belonging to the 58-year-old man,
  • Suspected cannabis matter, and
  • Other drug paraphernalia.

The man was arrested and he will face the ACT Magistrates Court today charged with possessing a prohibited substance, possessing ammunition, and trafficking in a controlled drug.
