Man charged for allegedly vandalising Australian War Memorial and ABC Canberra Building

A 20-year-old man will face the ACT Magistrates Court this afternoon after allegedly vandalising the Australian War Memorial and the ABC Canberra building earlier this year.

Police will allege the man spray-painted slogans on the exterior of the ABC Canberra building on Northbourne Avenue on four occasions in February and March.

The man also allegedly spray-painted slogans on the exterior of the Australian War Memorial (AWM) in June.

Following an investigation where police released CCTV footage from the AWM incident, the man attended Gungahlin Police Station this morning (Thursday, 26 September 2024).

He was arrested and charged with five counts of damaging property.
