
Man charged following Franklin road rage and stabbing incident
A 29-year-old Florey man will face court today following a road rage incident in Franklin that resulted in one man being stabbed over the weekend.
Between approximately 1:45pm and 2:10pm on Sunday (15 September 2024) the incident allegedly began when a grey Subaru Liberty pulled in behind a Black Mitsubishi Lancer on Flemington Road, Mitchell.
Police believe the drivers of the two vehicles began interacting while driving north on Flemington Road with both vehicles eventually stopping at Nullarbor Avenue, Franklin.
Both drivers left their vehicles, and an altercation allegedly occurred where the driver of the Mitsubishi received a stab wound to the chest.
Yesterday afternoon, police executed a search warrant at the 29-year-old man’s residence in Florey.
During the search warrant, police located a number of items related to the alleged road rage incident, including clothing, a knife and blood on the Subaru.
The 29-year-old man has been charged with intentionally wounding and breaching his good behaviour order.
