A 56-year-old man will face court today in relation to alleged sexual assaults that occurred in the 1980’s.

In May this year (2024) a report was received by ACT Policing regarding allegations of sexual assaults committed by a boy against his sister in the 1980’s.

An investigation was commenced and on Saturday (19 October 2024), a 56-year-old man was arrested and charged with six counts of indecent assault on a female (pre-1985).

The man is expected to appear in the ACT Childrens Court today (Monday 21 October 2024) - due to his age when the alleged sexual assaults occurred.

If you or someone you know has been affected by sexual violence, you can report to police by attending a police station or calling 131444.

You can also submit an online report for historical sexual assault for incidents that occurred more than six months ago.
