Witnesses sought to alleged animal cruelty incident

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to an alleged animal cruelty incident that occurred last week at Arawang Paddock.

About 9.30pm last Thursday (31 October 2024) a group of males wearing Halloween costumes were observed hitting a horse with a baseball bat at the Arawang Paddock, on the corner of Namatjira Drive and Kambah Pool Road.

Later that evening, the owner of the horse attended the paddock and located their horse with a sticky substance on it. The horse was not seriously injured.

A second owner spoke to police whose horse was also subject to abuse by the group.
