A 46-year-old Wanniassa man will face the ACT Magistrates Court this morning after allegedly committing a burglary at a residence in Franklin on Monday.
About 2.40pm (Monday, 18 November 2024) the man allegedly entered a property in Franklin – after forcibly tampering with the front door handle – and took items belonging to the residents. The incident was captured on CCTV footage.
The residents reported the incident to police later that day.
Shortly after, a further two people reported to police that they had arrived home to find their front door handles had been tampered with, and their properties had been ransacked.
After reviewing the CCTV footage from the Franklin incident, police located the 46-year-old man yesterday and arrested him.
He has been charged with burglary and breaching his parole obligations.
