A 28-year-old man who was subject to a good behaviour order will face court today after a police pursuit in Tuggeranong this morning.
About 12.40am (Tuesday, 26 November 2024), police conducting patrols in Kambah observed a white Mazda BT-50 with stolen registration plates.
Officers watched the 28-year-old man enter the vehicle before doing a burnout in front of an unmarked police car on a residential street.
The man was directed to stop but he drove away, running over tyre deflation devices during the pursuit. He stopped the vehicle a short time later on the Tuggeranong Parkway and was arrested.
The man was taken to the ACT Watch House where he was subject to a blood alcohol screening test, which returned a result of 0.103 grams of alcohol per 210 litres of breath.
He has been charged with failing to stop for police, aggravated/furious/reckless driving, driving a motor vehicle with alcohol in blood, and breach of good behaviour obligations.
He is due to appear before the ACT Magistrates Court today (Tuesday, 26 November 2024).
