A 29-year-old man will face the ACT Magistrates Court today after allegedly assaulting his partner and evading police after the incident.
About 2.30pm yesterday afternoon (Tuesday, 5 November 2024), police received a report of a man hitting a woman in the face while in public in Greenway, before leaving the scene in a Toyota Corolla.
A short time later, police observed the same car from the report travelling along Cynthea Teague Crescent and directed the driver to stop.
The 29-year-old man failed to stop for police, swerving around officers and driving in an erratic manner.
The vehicle was later located in Isabella Plains and police found the man hiding in the roof cavity of a nearby home.
Police seized the vehicle, and the man was arrested and charged with aggravated common assault and failing to stop a motor vehicle for police.
