A 40-year-old man will face court today after allegedly assaulting his former partner’s family members during an altercation in Fisher earlier this week.
About 1.30pm on Monday (25 November 2024), police allege the man arrived at his former partner’s home and began threatening her.
The woman contacted family members who arrived a short time later and a verbal argument ensued.
The 40-year-old man punched a female family member in the head and when a male family member intervened, he pushed him to the ground and began to stomp on his chest.
Bystanders contacted police and the man left the scene on a bicycle.
Two people were treated at hospital for injuries sustained during the incident.
About 6pm last night (Tuesday, 26 November 2024), police located the man at a residence in Watson and placed him under arrest.
He is due to appear before the ACT Magistrates Court today, charged with affray and aggravated assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
