ACT Policing is seeking witnesses and dash cam footage following multiple reports of dangerous driving by a man in a white Volkswagen SUV yesterday.

Between 10.30am and 12.40pm yesterday (Saturday, 7 December 2024) police received multiple reports of a white Volkswagen T-Roc small SUV (with NSW registration DH10KZ) driving erratically across the ACT and NSW.

Multiple police resources engaged with the vehicle during the two-hour period however officers were often forced to disengage with the vehicle due to the risk the Volkswagen driver was posing to other road users.

At about 12.40pm, an AFP Protective Service Officer located the vehicle and its driver (a 22-year-old man) parked on Pialligo Avenue near Canberra Airport.

The 22-year-old was subsequently arrested and charged with negligent driving and refusing to provide an oral fluid sample. Police will review dash camera footage and if appropriate, the driver will be charged with further offences including dangerous driving, leaving the scene of a collision and not providing details to another driver involved in a collision.

ACT Policing is seeking any witnesses who have not already spoken to police and anyone that may have dash-cam footage of the white Volkswagen SUV yesterday morning to come forward.

Anyone who can assist police is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website.  Please quote 7920054.
