Two 20-year-old men have been charged with driving offences, including drink and drug driving, in separate incidents.

About 10.30am yesterday morning (Saturday, 28 December 2024), police were called to a disturbance in Monash.

Police allege a 20-year-old P-plater attended a residence on a black Suzuki motorcycle and did a burnout on the driveway before getting into a physical altercation with a male resident.

The man and his female passenger left the scene on the bike but were located a short time later and arrested.

The bike was found to be unregistered and unroadworthy, with stolen registration plates, covered indicators and leaking fuel.

The man was subject to a breath analysis test which returned a blood alcohol concentration of 0.116.

He has been charged with offences including driving under the influence, driving an unsafely maintained vehicle and failing to display his provisional plates.

In a separate incident, another 20-year-old man was arrested after allegedly failing to stop for police while driving a stolen vehicle.

About 12.45am this morning (Sunday, 29 December 2024), police were notified by New South Wales Police Force of a white Skoda Kodiaq that was seen speeding near the ACT border.

A short time later, ACT Policing officers observed the Skoda on the Monaro Highway near Hume and directed the driver to pull over.

The driver refused to stop for police, swerving onto the wrong side of the road and travelling at more than 180km/h in a 100km/h zone.

The vehicle eventually stopped in Monash where the driver was arrested. A female passenger who had exited the vehicle during the pursuit was also arrested.

The 20-year-old man, who was subject to bail conditions, was charged with offences including driving while under the influence of a drug, failing to stop for police, aggravated dangerous driving and driving a motor vehicle without consent.
