UPDATE Police seek wanted man Thor Kristiansen ARRESTED

Update: About 9.50am this morning (Tuesday, 17 December 2024), police received a report that wanted man Thor Kristiansen was seen in Ainslie in a stolen white BMW SUV.

Police engaged with the stolen vehicle through Canberra’s inner north and south before it was abandoned.

Mr Kristiansen was later arrested in Curtin after allegedly stealing a bicycle and attempting to flee from police.

He was taken to the ACT Watch House and is expected to face the ACT Magistrates Court tomorrow.

Update: Police are releasing a further image of wanted 36-year-old man Thor Kristiansen following an incident this afternoon.

About 2pm this afternoon (Monday, 16 December 2024), police responded to a traffic incident on The Valley Avenue in Gungahlin.

A man, believed to be Mr Kristiansen, fled the scene on foot. He was last seen in the vicinity of Anytime Fitness in Mitchell about 3.15pm.

Members of the public are urged not to approach him and contact police on 131 444 if they see him.

Update: Police are releasing images of a black Volkswagen Amarok utility with ACT registration MCM90V, believed to be driven by Mr Kristiansen in the Woden and Tuggeranong areas this afternoon.

Police are still seeking to locate Mr Kristiansen and remind the public not to approach him, but instead contact police on 131 444.

ACT Policing is seeking the public’s assistance to locate 36-year-old wanted man Thor Kristiansen.

Mr Kristiansen is wanted in relation to a number of stolen motor vehicle, stolen property, and traffic related offences.

He is described as Caucasian in appearance, approximately 185cm tall (6’1”) with a solid build and long hair in dreadlocks.

Mr Kristiansen may also be in possession of homemade weapons and members of the public are urged not to approach him.

If anyone has any information about his whereabouts they are asked to contact ACT Policing on 131 444.
