A 48-year-old Braddon man faced the ACT Magistrates Court yesterday following his alleged involvement in a ram raid at a store in Woden yesterday morning.
Last month, a white Subaru Outback was reported stolen from a residence in Braddon.
About 3.20am yesterday morning (Friday, 6 December 2024), two men were observed on CCTV in the allegedly stolen Subaru station wagon driving into the entrance of a Woden shopping complex, smashing through the front door and causing significant damage.
The pair then proceeded to drive through the shopping complex where they were once again observed on CCTV driving through the glass shop front of a store.
Once inside, one of the men stole an e-tricycle, which he subsequently rode off on. The 48-year-old man departed the area in the Subaru.
About 8am yesterday morning, police located the 48-year-old, who was on bail for other offences at the time of the incident, in the City where he was subsequently arrested.
He has been charged with joint commission aggravated burglary, joint commission theft, driving a motor vehicle without consent, using a number plate issued for another vehicle, and unlawfully possessing stolen property.
