Teens caught speeding through roadworks

Two teens have been caught driving at 108km/h in a 60km/h zone overnight. 

About 8:30pm last night (Monday, 6 March 2023) ACT Road Policing officers were conducting mobile patrols along Gundaroo Drive, McKellar.  

Officers observed two vehicles traveling in excess of the speed limit - detecting their speed at 108km/h in a 60km/h roadworks zone.  

Both drivers were issued traffic infringement notices for $1,841, will incur 6 demerit points will have their licences suspended at a later date. 

Police remind drivers that speed limits in roadworks zones are there to keep both the workers and motorists safe.
