Man to face court charged with intentionally inflict grievous bodily harm

An 18-year-old Reid man who was recently released from youth detention will face the ACT Magistrates Court this morning (Tuesday, 18 July 2023) charged in relation to a serious assault with a knife.

About 7.15am on Monday, 17 July, police allege the man attacked another man with a knife at a residence in Narrabundah, before fleeing the location on foot.

The victim suffered a significant wound to his neck, and was treated by ACT Ambulance Service Paramedics at the scene before being transported to hospital.

The alleged offender was subsequently arrested about 6pm at a residence in Reid.

He will face court today, charged with intentionally inflict grievous bodily harm. Police will oppose bail.
