Deputy Chief Police Officer
The Deputy Chief Police Officer is responsible for supporting the Chief Police Officer in delivering effective, community-focused policing across the Australian Capital Territory. The role provides strategic and operational leadership, overseeing frontline services, major investigations, and organisational performance, while ensuring alignment with ACT Government priorities.
As second-in-command, the Deputy Chief Police Officer plays a key role in driving policing outcomes, leading senior teams, and strengthening partnerships with government, emergency services, and the community to enhance safety and public confidence.
Assistant Commissioner Richard Chin has been in the organisatoin for 26 years and returns to ACT Policing from the AFP. He has worked in Transnational and Serious and Organised Crime in technology related fields.
